Openness and Transparency Statement

Home » Openness and Transparency Statement

As a matter of policy, practice and transparency, since 1970 The International College of the Cayman Islands maintains an openness of communication consistent with best practices. Discussions are encouraged among campus groups in many areas of campus life. Open channels of dialogue and mutually constructive relationships exist with community leaders in Cayman and beyond.

The campus conducts a quarterly meeting of the faculty, a quarterly meeting of academic advisory boards, the College staff meets once a week and the ICCI Student Council meets quarterly. Minutes of these meeting are available on the college’s website. Personnel matters are redacted from minutes.  The ICCI Board of Trustees meets quarterly. The meeting dates are published on the ICCI website. The concerns of the ICCI student council and the faculty are represented as both have a representative who attends the quarterly meeting of The Board.

The International College of the Cayman Islands is committed to openness in providing useful information in formats that are accessible to students, faculty, staff, and the public.  The International College of the Cayman Islands makes every effort to provide information that is complete, accurate, and up-to-date. All institutional information, including the website, is reviewed regularly for accuracy and effectiveness. We use a variety of formats, including print and electronic, to communicate academic expectations, promote academic offerings, share college news, and promote college events. The College is  also engaged with constituents through social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), making the best use of these channels for recruitment, program promotion and publicity, disseminating campus news, and to quickly address questions or concerns.

All policies regarding admission, transfer of credit, academic requirements, policies and procedures, expectations regarding student conduct, procedures for complaints and appeals, information regarding student fees, and charges and refund policies are available on the website. The College prepares a catalogue provided to the general public in electronic-only formats.

Specific educational goals and student-learning outcomes for each academic program are published on the program web pages. Institutional data, such as retention, graduation rates and other educational statistics, are tracked by college administration.

Information regarding faculty credentials and department affiliation, as well as names and positions of administrative officers and names and affiliations of members of the Board of Trustees are published in the catalogs and on the website.

Additional information such as the ICCI Mission Statement, accreditation statements, admissions processes, characteristics of the student body, availability of support services, and other vital information are also found at icci.edu.ky.  Audited financial statements are produced each year and are made available to the appropriate accrediting bodies annually at the direction of the ICCI Board of Trustees.
